Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Officers say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The substance had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they reported.
Police then discovered numerous other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the fluid was likely human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; authorities are not yet aware of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for information.
A high-ranking official said the vandalism left him stunned and needed to be addressed rapidly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he posted on social media, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
